1 chance.

I’ve been holding this story back for a while but over the last few months I’ve felt the urge to tell it.

I almost didn’t post one of my first LinkedIn posts.
You know the infamous one that changed everything?

The reason? I felt ugly, “fat”, and like I had 0 to provide to the platform.
I wasn’t an expert, I was unemployed and kept on comparing myself.

I actually went to a cafe with my mum to try and take some pictures for Linkedin because everyone seemed to have remote offices or co-working with friends but I was ‘working’ in my childhood bedroom.

Not very Linkedin is it…

So in my best effort to show up, I dressed up and took myself out to get some photos JUST for Linkedin.

And even through all that effort, I hated every single photo. Every draft.

All of it, I cringed, I cried, I even photoshopped my acne out of the photo.

But, I said fuck it. I need to post this and give it a go.

24 hours later, the post had 2k likes and 100k impressions.

And I’m telling you this because I know what it feels like to feel like you’re not good enough to build a personal brand or post on Linkedin.

In fact, LinkedIn is the most humbling platform because you’re not only competing with others on vanity and selfies but also accomplishments and intellectual recognition.

I get it. I deleted my LinkedIn account because of literally that.

However, even though I didn’t feel good enough.
Today I do. I sooooo do.

But it all started with that post.

I would have never ever EVER realized my potential if I didn’t just go for it.

Not because LinkedIn is this magical life hack but because it forces you to be better every single day.

You write more, you learn more, you meet better people, you change you environment at least mentally and slowly…. you make better decisions.

The more I met incredible people, the more I saw their habits and I adopted them.

And today I’m 10kg down, acne free and feel proud of the person I look at in the mirror.

I also don’t edit my photos or go to cafe’s to pretend I’m worthy.

My writing does that for me!

LinkedIn changed my life.

And I hope it can change yours.

Post your first post, share 1 thing you think may help 1 person.

Talk about how you won one new connection
Or show off your favorite marketing tactic

Just do it to the best of your ability, and do it again the next day.

You never know… that one post you’ve been holding back on may be the one that changes everything for you.

PS: I’m going back home in a few weeks, might take a pic in that exact same cafe.
