How To Become #1 in a Saturated Niche
Last night, I received a DM from a follower of mine.
He warned me about the algorithm changes across platforms.
“LinkedIn is doing X now and pushing Y”
“YouTube is doing X now and canceling Y”
Could feel the panic through his words… but.
Instead of being scared, or stressed. Listen:
Build fans, not followers.
Social media will always have algorithms change to your disadvantage at some point - but the reality is that if your content is flopping…
The algorithm is almost never the problem, our ability to understand our people is.
Shoutout to the sponsors of this newsletter, Taplio.
Taplio is one of my secret weapons to generate content ideas, schedule and use AI. I LOVE their AI tool 🤤. I literally made a video about it.

How I’m “Beating” the Algorithm
(without even trying)
6 months ago, Live streams got us around 30,000 impressions.
Last week it was 4x that (123,826 impressions in 2024)
And it makes so much sense.
People crave real authentic connection
Our community wants to hang out in real time
Loyal fans want a deeper look “into” our daily lives.
Retention is higher, impressions are higher… but most importantly.
Brand authority goes through the moon.
Why it’s essential for you to understand this:
💸 For those in it for the $$$: 70% of sales for the cohort came from streams
😮💨 For those in it for the vibes: followers want no bs and authentic entrepreneurs.
Live video content is a real goldmine for connection and conversion online.
→ You showcase your expertise live and off the cuff
→ You build emotional rapport and connection in real time.
One of my cohort members said she bought the course because she LOVED my mannerisms and confidence.
80% of communication, is non verbal. If you’re good at writing, awesome.
But add video too - its a no brainer for me now.
Attract people with your written content.
Retain them with stories and humor on the feed.
Sell them into your “cult” with video content (live preferred).
When people are praising infographics, 15s clips and carousels… Go all in on live content (your own way).
Look I’m not saying you should go ahead and buy a camera, lights, more lights, a mic, more of the wrong lights, a lense, another lense cos you got the wrong one, a teleprompter…
Oh wait no that’s just something I’d do.
OK well, I’m not telling you to go crazy on video to the point of spending 3 hours browsing for one specific cable.
But what I’m saying is to use it as a tool, as much as you’re able to and WANT to.
I didn’t do video on LinkedIn earlier because I simply didn’t want to.
I wasn’t ready and I had a specific vision for it.
However, I was doing a lot of video coaching calls and IRL podcasts, which had a similar effect just at a lower scale.
Start small, then go big.
Unless you’re me then you’re stuck at 5’2 forever, buty you know what I mean.
That’s literally it kings and queens.
Next week, I’m going to break down the most valuable asset entrepreneurs can have right now when building their personal brands (it’s not a big following).
I’m excited. See you soon 💖
