emergency sex and the nuclear effect
and other desperate measures
On the plane back to London sat on seat something B, I glanced over and saw the guy next to me reading a book titled ‘Emergency Sex and Other Desperate Measures’…
I remember thinking, Wow. That’s a bold title for 38,000 feet.
Mind you, I’m tired by now, so I made a quick judgment thinking he might be in the sex industry or adjacent. He was bilingual, dressed incredibly well and traveling on a random Tuesday to London….
In just under 3 minutes ,I’d already assumed many things about him,
A few minutes later, I pulled out MY book to showcase intellectual superiority.
It was obviously a business book pff - why would I read anything else? Like a sex book on a plane…could never be me.
The guy taps my shoulder and points out at the reading light because he noticed I had my book 2cms away from my eyes.
And you know what my friend, by this point I started to like this sex book reading man.
Thought he might be a sex psychologist for wealthy people in London or… something else.
He then noticed the title of my book: The Nuclear Effect.
He raised an eyebrow. “Oh are you in nuclear physics?”
I laughed so hard. “No, it’s about internet businesses!”
Then I asked, are you a….? or Why the book? Turns out the book was about UN workers surviving war zones!!!
He’d made the same snap judgment I had.
We both saw the same things and instantly filled in the blanks about each other.
And you might not know it, but you might be carrying one of those books too.
Not literally, but anytime you post online people aren’t just reading what you write.
They’re looking at your photo, your headline, and how much engagement you get."
Our brain looks for shortcuts: “Is this person valuable to me?”
So, unlike what most gurus say, personal branding isn’t just about the best hooks.
It’s about positioning. Writing is one tiny part.
This whole perception game is unfair. It’s silent. Its instant.
But when you know how to use it… It’s leverage.
So… What would change if people saw you as the expert in your space before you opened your mouth?
What kind of business could you build if your content did the positioning for you?
Because the right positioning does half the work before you even show up.
It makes people listen to you before you even speak to them.
it makes clients want to work with you before you meet them.
It makes you the only option in a sea full of competitors in a saturated market.
So my friend, while everyone obsesses about going viral.
Obsess over what people assume when they first see you.
And how you can change that through your content.
Because like that man on the plane… You might be a brilliant undercover politician.
But if you’re holding the wrong book cover, people might never find out.
If that hit a nerve, nice my job here is halfway done..
Because inside Creator Capital, I’ll teach you how to fix this:
How to become the obvious choice for your dream clients.
How to build a brand so strong, your content sells before you do.
And how to create positioning so clear, you never feel like a fraud again.
The content game is full of nuance and positioning is the most misunderstood one. The real capital behind a massive internet business isn’t “just writing” - it’s the ability to create a narrative so strong you build fans.
