Gary Vee Manipulated me

Summer 2022, this random man from Belarus kept on popping up on YouTube.

Shouting directly at me via my 12-inch laptop.

“POST CONTENT” “GARAGE SALES” “OH YOU’RE TIRED, PERSPECTIVE LARA”

While he was shouting at me via the internet, he dropped a golden nugget.

“LinkedIn is having an Instagram 2012 moment” and it hit me.

His strategies might’ve been wrong for me, but that single thing was so right.

Yes, he manipulated me to:

• Posting 10x a day in different channels

• To thinking that “being myself” was enough to grow

• To buying and reading books as every good marketer does

And look I even looked into garage sales and buying a grey beanie…

But he led me to the one thing that changed everything.

Yesterday I recorded a video where I sat down and told the story that starts with me watching one of his keynotes on LinkedIn.

And I explain in detail the 6 steps that made this come full circle for me.

PS: Gary has been a massive influence for me, I have a photo framed of him I had in my desk at University while I was building.

It served as a reminder of the vision I had when it all started and still does today.
