I locked myself in a room until I made $200k/mo
Let me take you back to February 2024 for a second.
I was in a room with business owners who’d exited their businesses, including my friend Timo Armoo. Out of the 6 people there, I was by far the least impressive. Like literally.
Back then, the idea of me starting a new business was in the air. Just potential.
And if I know one thing now… potential means nothing when it’s not realised.
No one in that group talked about dreams, the spoke about their actions.
But from the world of wannabe entrepreneurship I came from, it was the opposite.
Now… since I had literally nothing to say, I when asked what I was up to I was like
“yeah so I’m thinking of doing this thing with my friend Jake”…
shit.
Now they knew it. They’d heard me want it. They believed in me???
There was no way I could let myself fail… but months had passed, nothing really moved.
My business was growing. Jakes business was expanding. Our competitors were fighting for the leader board.
I even got offers from 2 companies to become a co-founder, one company offered me a position too.. But I believed in the vision for the business I wanted to start with Jake. I declined all of them.
The gamble of the century. Could we compete with a business backed by Gary Vee?
Could we compete with a business with millions in funding?
But regardless, I had said I was doing it. In the air of no, the idea was there.
I couldn’t go back on my word - just not mu thing.
So every time I went to see them - I didn’t want to come empty-handed.
I spent those quiet months researching the market. The problems. Competitors…
And here’s something to make you think, my friend.
When nothing is moving… it doesn’t mean that it isn’t working.
See, no one really realizes this, but time is a privilege; once things “move,” hours in the day are hard to find.
And if you have it today… don’t resent it. Do something with it.
I did.
Turns out, always having something to show, even if it wasn’t much, became the biggest piece in the puzzle behind the scenes of building a tech start up.
While everyone ideated, or got busy pretending to work. I solved problems before they even happened. I built a personal brand that sky-rocketed our business.
But now the question is… could I possibly hit 200k/mo?.
Or for some of you might be, have you left your apartment?
PS: This is just the beggining of the story, and there’s a lot more we can share.
If you liked the video, comment here what you’d like to see next? Our marketing strategy? How we did it? Let me know…
Love you.
