i nearly lost my business (and quit).

May 18th, 2024, it’s 2 am in Miami.

I opened my laptop to check LinkedIn.

My account was gone. Profile missing. Years of content were erased overnight.

LinkedIn had banned me. Again.

And for a moment, I froze.

I felt helpless, stressed. All of my work growing an account… gone.

Because here’s the truth nobody likes to admit:

You don’t own your audience on social media.
You rent it.

10k followers? 50k? 100k? One decision and they can all be gone.

I’ve seen businesses implode overnight because they built their empire on rented land.

The only reason I didn’t collapse that night in Miami?

I had one thing the algorithm couldn’t take: an email list of 17,000 loyal subscribers.

That list meant I could still reach my audience.

In fact, they reached out to me before I even noticed.

I knew I could still grow. I could launch. I could build.

But here’s the thing my friend.

This sounds painfully obvious.
But 2 years ago when I nearly lost it all I thought followers were enough.

I thought the platform was safe for me to grow and build as long as I wasn’t controversial.

As long as I kept educating others for free. Becoming a thought leader.

I was SO wrong.

And that mistake nearly cost me everything.

Not just my audience but the opportunity of generating more income earlier on.

Because what everyone says about email is true, it’s a true goldmine.

There’s no algorithm to battle.
There’s no virality formula needed.

Just a good damn email every week.

Since then I’ve gone all in on email.

So much so it’s become the main revenue driver to my million dollar business.

Don’t wait until you’re ready.

If you’re reading this you are.

Email is easier than content.

No one cares about your perfectly written post.

Or your crazy polarising hook.

They care about you.

So, my friend, what are we naming your newsletter

PS:

Reliving this Miami story made me laugh lol.

Looked through some of the emails to find the exact date my LinkedIn was banned.

Had about 20 emails from followers and clients within hours asking me what happened.

Which is exactly why I’m building Send & Slay, sorry Send & Sell.

Where I’ve literally built an email list for a stranger, written emails for said stranger using AI in minutes and showed the entire playbook from set up, to writing to launching and growing a list to then monetising.

(nerdy miro boards and swipe files included).
