if nothing is working, read this.

This quote plays on my mind every single time I feel lost.

Nothing is working. I’m exhausted. I feel paralysed.

The days get longer and longer, and progress is not being made.

I have these moments at least 4x a year.

And the answer always lies in following the white rabbit.

It’s no surprise I’m a movie fan. I’m a storyteller after all…

“The matrix” is one of them.

And what it represents is to listen to the signals that are being presented to you.

In conversations you have.
In podcasts that you seem to come across.
In content you just happen to read that day.

Nothing happens by accident in this world.

I’m certain of it.

There is no such thing as a coincidence. Only alignment.

But you need to learn to listen to the cues your subconscious is sending you.

There’s a reason why you think things consistently.
There’s a reason why you see certain things repeatedly.
There’s a reason why you get put in certain situations…

The cue and how to take action on it:

For over 3 years I’ve been asked why I never wanted to go “all in” on Instagram or tiktok.

My usual answer “time is not right”

My mind is wired to catch signals, not noise.

I’ve designed that way for a long time.

The signals are based on a few things:

- Do I have the time?
- Does this align with the goals I have?
- Will this bring me 1% closer to my long-term goal?

If the answer is no to any of these, I decline.

(not always though, I usually fall for a woman in a red dress)

Now… earlier in the year, I burned out, bad.

I’m yet to write about this entire experience, but I will…

I got slapped with a million things to work on.
Failed at hiring multiple times.
Wasn’t happy with content or offers.

And this felt like noise.
I became unfulfilled quickly.

But it turned out to be a signal to move fast.

The burnout I had was in potential being lost.

There’s an incredible chapter inside reality transurfing on this. I’d recommend reading it.

Long story short, I took action.

Sat down and sifted through every single thing I hated in the business.

Suddenly I had time.

The business hit a record month so I had money.
My mind was clear as I had laid everything out on paper so I knew the goals.

A month later we began executing on Instagram strategy.

I didn’t spend time strategising - this perfectionist tendency is procrastination in disguise to avoid actually doing the thing.

Sent messages to different people to collect data on my approach.
Messaged a few agencies I knew could help.
Hired 1 on the spot.

Today we’ve gone viral multiple times and gained approx 5k new followers.

Because I followed the white rabbit.

The rabbit was the people mentioning Instagram multiple times in a short space of time.

The rabbit was the multiple opportunities I missed because of my following was not big enough on other platforms.

The rabbit was me suddenly feeling an urge to quit everything all at once.

But the key was to not act impulsively but collect the bread crumbs.

I shouldn’t be getting this honest but I thought it might help someone.

See the multiple times I felt uncomfortable at someone asking me why I wasn’t going multi-platform made me realise the discomfort wasn’t because they were pushy.

But because I knew it was time to take action, and that is scary.

There’s risk of failure, there’s risk of losing money, there’s risk of time lost… etc.

But if you never try you’ll never know.

Whenever you feel like quitting.
Or like you’re stuck.

Collect the bread crumbs.
Follow the white rabbit.

Listen to the signals your brain is giving you.

It knows where success is.

You just need to listen to it.

Don’t give up.

Take a break from work today and do this instead.

Watch the Matrix so you get this email more.
Read chapter 11 in reality transfuring.

Let me know how you find either.

But that chapter blew my mind.

Love, Lara

I will be breaking down my Instagram strategy once I have enough data to understand how anyone could implement.

Still collecting bread crumbs.
