Alright, ladies and gentlemen.
Last week I dropped one of the most comprehensive videos on the “new” LinkedIn algorithm.
Broke down what happened
How 360Brew works in real time
Gave examples on how to leverage the updates
And broke down an algorithm-proof strategy anyone can use.

I collected a list of every new update; here’s what they mean for you:

Earlier in March, LinkedIn’s VP of engineering dropped this article.
In short, here’s what it covered:
Your profile matters more than ever.
Topic authority appears to be getting stronger
Comment automation is being targeted
Engagement pods are being targeted
Generic thought leadership is being suppressed
If you’ve been following me for a while, this is not “new”.
Truly and fundamentally, your profile has always mattered.
Not from an algorithm perspective but from a people perspective.
Because this was never really an algorithm problem.
It was a human psychology problem.
You’ll always trust the specialist over the generalist.
The specialist has:
1) A headline that is clear to who they serve

2) Content that speaks about that ONE topic in 100 different ways…

3) Optimises for expertise, not virality

It’s not about the format you use, or who designs your banner… success depends on 3 specific variables I noticed the best accounts use today.
Watch this video to see me explain this in-depth here.
Updates that dropped this week…
The viral release of LinkedIn’s Creator Marketplace.
LinkedIn has been hinting at this since late 2024.
They’ve doubled down in creator activations since the start of this year.
From John Summit's Wall Street rave (?)

To their increasing activations with corporate influencers outside of LinkedIn

So, what does this mean? In short: LinkedIn just made it easier for people to get paid by big brands to post content about them.
In an ideal world, this would indicate the beginning of LinkedIn becoming a platform for creators and not just professionals - meaning that impressions, virality, follower growth and so on could potentially be achieved in more ways than we see today.
Almost like some of us saw in early 2023-24
Do I think this will happen? Potentially, but it depends.
I think about this a lot. LinkedIn’s main revenue source is enterprise sales. Think sales navigator and so on. Big corporate companies buy these 6-figure subscriptions.
So their interest is mainly that. The creator economy thing is cute for them today, something they like to try and get involved in…
So, as a business owner myself the only way I’d double down on this new creator move is if the creator marketplace brings in enough revenue to incentivise more creators to come on the platform and post.
This could potentially be the best thing that happens to LinkedIn from a creator and content perspective.
Could.
Other updates:
Video feed is back on mobile
GIF comments allowed on comment section
Carousels now have a different size (???)
My thoughts:
LinkedIn is experimenting with back end UI.
Gif comments allowed means they want more people commenting.
Pretty much my thoughts. Nothing crazy here.
But I’m watching out to see how all these updates come together.
This is me rn:

My final thoughts on everything that’s new.
It’s overwhelming to try to keep up. So I simply personally ignore most things.
My job, however, requires me to be updated and understand everything, but when it comes to my content, my clients’ content, and advising, I stick to the fundamental truths that will always remain:
You talking about 1 thing will always be beneficial
Industry influence has 10x more ROI than being an influencer
Tapping into trends is good for growth, as long as you link it back to you
Video, carousels, and infographics work if you understand how to package them
Commenting is by far the most underrated growth strategy
Storytelling content wins if you make the story about the reader not you
So much I can say across everything I broke down.
Reply to this email on what topic you’d like me to expand on, happy to.
But remember this: don’t obsess over metrics and updates. Obsess on making your content the best it can be instead.
That’s truly the only thing you can control.
Here’s a list of videos you should watch:
That’s it for today, ladies and gentlemen.
Kings and queens.
Love you.
