LinkedIn is a Game, and everyone is cheating

Stolen content, fake numbers and sob stories.

This is what LinkedIn looks like right now (and all other platforms)

Content creation has become a game where everyone is cheating.

Engagement pods, unauthentic ads and people pretending to be someone they are not and never were or will be.

I don’t blame them, if I hadn’t spend 5-10hrs daily on the platform writing for clients, myself and seeing the pro’s and cons… I’d do the same.

It all seems harmless.

Until it’s not and your brand suffers as a consequence.

We’re all so obsessed with escaping the matrix of the 9-5. But end up entering a different one, the creator matrix.

Wake up, write a post based on what is working, use the same template, don’t show your personality too much, send your post to various distribution groups, comment and engage with others without reading their post, write another post that looks like Justin Welshs’s.

It’s a trap.

And today I’m going to show you a different path.

Play The Long Game

Just like you don’t win at fitness (you stay fit), you don’t win on LinkedIn.

You keep building your authority, impact and positioning.

You become an elite performer in your arena, whatever that is.

So what does it take?

Find your “Everest”

Don’t plan in months, think in decades.

If you want to grow on LinkedIn - why is it that.

Listen, true authority is build from self-awareness of what is in it for you.

We say give value, but the biggest value comes from you knowing where the value for you is too. Don’t give aimlessly, there’s always a goal.

Selfish I know, but that’s the only way to be selfless in the long-term.

You can’t pour into someone else’s cup when yours is empty 😉

The long game starts when you become your biggest asset.

Become it by being insanely useful. Build relationships on the back of it too.

This is how you stay in the game too

The Impact Formula

A year ago, I saw Kieran Drew’s content for the first time.

He was launching his second course, which made him $100k+ in 4 days…

So I obviously paid attention to what he was writing about, and what I saw was:

No tricks, no gimmicks - just good content.

Here’s how he’s built one of the biggest communities and creator businesses I’ve ever seen:

Beyond the “hacks” and all of the usual content tricks we see, Kieran saw where the $$$ was.

Storytelling, personality and reputation.

People don’t just want to be educated.

They want to be entertained and inspired too. The best way to do this…?

Learn how to split your content between all 3.

I stole his strategy for my Twitter, used this cute calendar he posted actually (sorry kieran) and I got to 10k followers on Twitter in no time.

My audience not only liked me but loved that I was being more personal which I then took to LinkedIn and well we know the result there.

Be more personal, give more advice and always share your story.

Content is your credential, get to the highest level and win the long game.

Is it all fair in a game with no rules?

Just like life, the LinkedIn game has no rules - but you do have values.

Do you cut corners or do you go the full way?

Do you want to be known for everything or just one thing?

Do you want to stand for nothing or stand for something?

Next time you’re looking at the newest AI feature to write your content for you or joining a big creator pod with the hopes of “growing faster” ask yourself…

Is this really what I’m building?

I’m no one to tell you the answers, but you know mine.

Until next time,

That’s literally it kings and queens.

Shoutout Kieran Drew for sponsoring this email! 🙂

PS: Thank you for your support with YouTube growth. I just made partner.

This is huge for me, and you.

AND we’re about to hit 7K!

I’m on a personal vendetta against the education system and thank you for being part of it!

Love!!
