stuck in harry potter's cupboard
help?
Overlooked. Underestimated. Waiting for something to change.
For a long time, I felt like I was stuck.
My life mirrored Harry Potter’s journey before he got invited into Hogwarts.
For 22 years, I felt like an outsider…Almost like I had a scar on my forehead setting me apart from everyone else.
Wasn’t cool enough for the cool kids.
Picked on by the rest.
Ignored and rejected by teachers and job applications.
There was nothing extraordinary about me (or at least that’s what I thought).
Then something changed.
No, I didn’t get an invite to Hogwarts, but I got the next best thing.
Harry had his letter.
I had LinkedIn.
The once in a lifetime opportunity to get unstuck
Pre my turning point of posting on LinkedIn for no other reason than a strong hunch, I’d been doing a lot of self-improvement work.
The 52 books in 52 weeks challenge and all.
One book in particular stands out now in reflection..
"The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them."
Opportunities usually find us, but we ignore them because:
You feel like you don’t have time
You feel like it’s not the right time
You feel like you’re not ready for it
But these are all excuses we make for ourselves.
Because the cupboard is where you start, but it’s not where you stay.
And building a personal brand will show you exactly that.
The truth is, people don’t start with time. They make time.
And no one’s “special” until they show what makes them different.
I didn’t rock up to LinkedIn and got the 185,000 followers I have today.
I made it happen by showing up every single day even when I didn’t believe in myself.
I started sharing my story.
I connected with people who understood my journey.
I learned from leaders I used to only read about.
It felt like magic.
My “boring” stories had more impact than I thought
My individual perspective mattered to the right people
My voice was making an impact in the space.
Now I’m telling you this because it’s your turn.
Stop waiting for someone to discover you.
Take charge and leave your version of Harry’s basement.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign or the right time, here it is.
Because I may not be able to send an owl with an admission letter to Literally Academy to you… but inside I most definitely will teach you how to tell your story and how to keep telling it.
How to make time for it. How to write quicker and better content. How to resonate with your audience... and so on.
The best part? Literally Academy’s launch offer is still running but it expires in 2 days. So make sure you grab your spot before it’s too late.
Want to see what else is inside?
See you inside?
PS: You wanna come to my “house” tour?
okay no not really a house tour, more like Literally Academy tour…
No, no there’s also not different dorms and you won’t be assigned into Slytherin..
But you can join me Sept 23rd for a whole 60 minutes of me workshopping through LinkedIn growth and showing you around Literally Academy!
I’ll be taking questions from the audience, playing some games and see who guesses how many energy drinks I’ve drank this week.
