How I turn "comments" into hot leads on LinkedIn:

In 2020, I traveled the UK doing door 2 door sales.

Commission-based only. Selling an awful product. Using dodgy sales tactics.

They made us move around the country every week. And now I realize it was because we weren’t building relationships, we were trashing them.

Selling to people who didn’t need our product and were better off with free advice.

For a few years after, the idea of sales made me sick.

I was playing a short-term game.

Because we weren’t helping, we were simply just selling.

And this parallels a lot of “sales” advice I see online.

  • Post about your offer

  • Pitch people every single day

  • Only give insights but never value for free

  • Cold out-reach, DM templates, bla bla bla

Given that I was traumatized, I chose a different path.

I decided to play the long-term game.

One business rule I live by: “Never create content you wouldn’t consume or buy from yourself.”

Every single product, coaching, and mentorship I’ve ever bought from was because I had consumed ALL of their free content before.

I knew, liked and trusted my potential mentors. I aligned with their values. I saw them teach me something new and probably made money from them before I even paid them.

And THIS is what makes or breaks a personal brand.

Play the long-term game. Not short-term.

If you want to sell to millions, stop trying to sell to thousands.

No big brand out here stands for just “sales” they stand for a bigger mission.

How I Turn My Comments Into Warm Leads Daily:

I partnered up with Taplio to show you how to turn your “free content” into clients regardless of you giving it all away for $0.

Step 1: Write a “GOOD” post

  1. Choose a highly specific problem you can fix for your ideal customer.

  2. Give them the tools and knowledge to fix it immediately.

  3. Get them to see you as an authority.

Solve a problem. Show a step-by-step. Focus on 1 person and 1 solution.

Step 2: Understand Attention, Traffic and Conversion

Back to the principles of personal branding.

For your ideal customer to find you, they need to know about you [free content]

To follow you, they have to like you [educating, inspiring and entertaining them]

To buy from you, they have to trust you [consistent results and value added]

Your “free” content brings attention, the quality of it brings higher traffic, and how well you connect with them makes the conversion happen.

Step 3: Traffic to conversion with Taplio

Post your insanely high-value post where you taught something GOOD.

Go to Taplio and copy paste that post link and put it in the “contacts” tab

It will import EVERYONE who commented on that post.

This is important because their awareness and interest level of you is HIGHER than the usual prospect.

This type of “top of mind” awareness is short-lasted as you are fighting for attention and recognition with 100s of other people and even platforms.

So this next step is crucial:

The key to win here is to do this at least weekly if not daily.

I can with 100% certainty say that when you message someone when they just commented on your content that day or morning, their perception AND reception of you is more welcoming and they are more open to buy.

Fact.

I’ve seen it work for me and it’s worked on me.

Step 3: Focus on nurturing and conversion

No automation, no ChatGPT Pitch Prompt… just good old social selling.

In an era where attention is the new currency, don’t devalue your status by playing short-term games.

Think in decades, not years. Sell to millions not thousands. Write for 1 not to many.
